Legal · Terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Berreto (Private) Limited, the company that owns and operates Velocity Rides. They explain what the app does, what we expect of you, what you can expect of us, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Velocity Rides is owned and operated by Berreto (Private) Limited, a company registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Berreto (Private) Limited. Our company website is berreto.com.
We operate Velocity Rides (“Velocity”), a ride-hailing and shared-travel platform in Pakistan. By creating an account, signing in, or using the Velocity Rides app or website, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
If you use Velocity on behalf of a business — a fleet, a franchise, or an advertiser — you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
Tell us immediately at business@velocityrides.app if you believe someone else is using your account.
Velocity is a technology platform that connects riders and senders with independent drivers and couriers. We do not provide transport services. Drivers and couriers are independent contractors, not our employees or agents. They choose whether to accept a request, and the transport contract for a trip is between the rider and that driver.
We work to verify drivers — including CNIC and vehicle checks — but we do not control how a driver drives, maintains a vehicle, or behaves. Use your own judgement, and check that the vehicle and driver match what the app shows before you get in.
If you drive or deliver on Velocity, you additionally agree that:
The app shows an estimated fare before you book, calculated from distance, time, vehicle type, and any surcharges in effect. The final fare may differ if the route, waiting time, or destination changes during the trip.
Fares, surcharges, and commission rates can change. Changes apply to trips booked after the change takes effect, never retroactively to a completed trip.
On a shared or pool ride you buy a seat, not the vehicle. That means:
When you send a parcel, you confirm you are entitled to send it and that its contents are legal. You must not send cash, jewellery, documents of title, weapons, drugs, hazardous or perishable goods, live animals, or anything prohibited by law.
Describe the parcel accurately and pack it properly. Couriers may refuse or open a parcel they reasonably believe is unsafe or unlawful. Liability for loss or damage is limited as set out in section 18, and we are not liable at all for prohibited items.
You may cancel a booking before the driver arrives. A cancellation fee may apply once a driver has been dispatched and has travelled toward you, or if you are not at the pickup point after the free waiting period. The applicable fee is shown in the app before you confirm the cancellation.
Repeated cancellations or no-shows — by a rider or a driver — may lead to reduced matching priority or account suspension.
Partners in the Earn with Velocity program receive a share of the platform commission Velocity earns on qualifying completed rides by users they introduce. Partner earnings are a percentage of our commission, never a percentage of the fare, and never a charge added to the rider.
Businesses can pay to send offers to Velocity users within a chosen radius. If you advertise, you are solely responsible for your offer: it must be accurate, lawful, honoured as stated, and not misleading. Any transaction arising from your offer is between you and the customer — Velocity is not a party to it.
We review submissions and may reject or remove any advertisement, and we cap how often users receive them. Advertising fees are for placement, not for a guaranteed number of customers or any particular result.
Fleet partners may add and manage drivers through the fleet portal. You are responsible for the drivers you onboard: their documents, their conduct, and their compliance with these terms. A fleet portal link is a convenience, not a credential — treat access to your fleet the way you would treat any business account, and tell us if a link is misused.
Riders and drivers rate each other after a trip. Ratings help keep the platform safe, and we use them, along with reports and our own checks, to decide who may keep using Velocity.
We may warn, restrict, suspend, or permanently ban an account — with or without prior notice, depending on severity — where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, a safety risk, abuse or harassment, a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or activity that harms other users or the platform. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and how to appeal. Appeals go to business@velocityrides.app.
The app includes safety features such as trip sharing, an emergency contact button, and driver verification. These are aids, not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, call the police (15) or Rescue 1122 first. Location data is shared during a trip as described in our Privacy Policy.
If a fare looks wrong, an item was left in a vehicle, or something went wrong on a trip, raise it in the app or email business@velocityrides.app within 7 days of the trip. We investigate using trip records and both accounts, and we will tell you the outcome.
Where a fare was charged in error we will correct it. Because most trips are paid in cash directly to the driver, a correction may be settled through your Velocity balance or through the driver rather than as a card refund.
Free accounts may see advertisements in the app. Ads are served by third parties, including Google AdMob, and we do not endorse advertised products. The app also relies on third-party services — maps, messaging, payments — each governed by its own terms. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not under our control.
We provide the app with reasonable skill and care, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available everywhere at all times. Fare estimates, arrival times, and map data are estimates.
Because drivers and couriers are independent, we are not responsible for their acts or omissions, for the condition of a vehicle, or for the conduct of other passengers in a pool. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under Pakistani law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app or a trip is limited to the greater of the fare for the trip the claim relates to, or PKR 10,000. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.
You agree to cover our reasonable losses, costs, and claims arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the app, or your breach of the law or the rights of another person — including damage you cause to a vehicle or to a parcel.
The Velocity name, logo, app, and content belong to us. You may use them only as needed to use the service. Do not copy, reverse-engineer, scrape, or build a competing product from the app, and do not use automated tools to access it.
Content you post — community posts, reviews, photos, support messages — remains yours, but you grant us a licence to host, display, and moderate it so the service can work. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaches these terms.
You may stop using Velocity at any time and delete your account from Settings or by following our account deletion instructions. We may end or suspend your access as described in section 14, or if we discontinue the service.
Ending an account does not cancel amounts already owed in either direction, and we keep records we are required by law to keep — see the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Velocity after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
